Hotel Holiday

We recently spent time celebrating what we call our “Hotel Holiday”. Five years ago, we purchased a home in Great Falls, Montana, ending a six-month season of living in hotels. We had become unemployed during the COVID pandemic, and were struggling to find work after chasing down an unfruitful job lead. While we didn’t stay there forever, we were incredibly grateful to have a home to call our own again. We vowed then to celebrate the day every year by staying in a hotel and thanking God for getting us through that time.

His faithfulness is steady and strong. Rachel was recently encouraged by Psalm 89:8-9, which she decided to memorize and recite daily. No matter how we are feeling, if we take the time to praise God with words that we know are true, He can and will steady us.

Who is like you, LORD God Almighty?
You, LORD, are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you.
You rule over the surging sea;
when its waves mount up, you still them.

We are waiting for Rachel’s dental license to be approved by Papua New Guinea, and our subsequent visa applications to be approved. We are waiting for the full amount of our funding. We are waiting for the Lord to show us His plan for our dogs. And while we are waiting, we will praise Him.
